Ultra-sounding Continues
Making a clean finish for ultrasounding. Kyle C and Mark S during yesterday’s workday. All the readings on both flue sheets came in good and within limits.
Inside the Firebox
Kyle C and Randy W were doing ultrasound on the flue sheet inside the firebox last week. Randy took this photo of Kyle up in the combustion chamber as he was grinding spots for readings.
Piping Recon
Matt and Jeff were recently mapping out the best way to remove and install the steam supply pipes under the jacketing. Steam engines have a lot of pipes and are complicated, but our mechanical are on top of it. Thank you, Matt and Jeff!

Flue/Tube Welded Ends
June 24, 2017: Jim Vanderbeck has finished grinding the flue/tube welded ends in the firebox. This has been a very time consuming task that Jim has accomplished all on his own. Once the welds are gone, the flue/ tubes must be cut with the torch so they can be collapsed and removed from the end sheet. […]
