2/24/17:  “So, Saturday, we pressed on with ultra-sounding. Not very exciting…not very dramatic…tedious,  actually. But Randy W. and Kyle C. keep plodding along. At the same time, Devin R. helped out exposing some pipe for inspection and cleaning around.

On Monday, the tube crew continued on removing those flues and tubes that have to come out so we can get inside the boiler. Good news is, they look really good!

So, that’s it. Again, not very exciting to look at, but necessary and moving us along.”

2/26/17:  “Got some more ultra sounding done and began scrapping out the old super heaters. We are saving some of the more historic parts – like the forged ball ends and return bends. There’s a guy at the engine house (Gary Brandt) who cleans this kind of thing up and sells it at the engine house or on E-bay. I believe the money goes to ORHF.” – Charlie
