March 31, 2017:

So, as we are on the cusp of another Saturday, I thought I should catch y’all up on what went on the last two Saturdays. It’s kind of dull, but it represents progress.

1. Ultra sounding continues under the careful hands of Randy Woehl and Kyle Chappell
2. We have been cutting up the old super heaters for recycling, and have been saving the forged ball ends, bifurcates, and forged return bends, because they have some historic value (at least in my mind) and are potentially souvenirs of some interest.
3. Matt continues to head up Monday crews and is making good progress in removing the tubes we have to remove to inspect the interior of the boiler.

We are also researching how to get the material we will need when we put the tubes back in and discussing “next steps” with the goal of progressing with various projects in an organized, orderly way.

So, that’s it. Like I said, not very exciting, but it keeps us off the streets.
